We transcribe according to the specifications you set. Listed here are our most requested transcription styles.
Proofread Transcription
Verbatim 100% of what we hear is accurately transcribed with no alterations or omissions. All um's, uh's, speech patterns (like, you know, sort of, kind of, etc.), false starts, pauses, side conversations and comments, moderator/interviewer remarks, applause, laughter, and interruptions are included. Grammar, slang, and non-standard language is not corrected.
Verbatim is most requested for legal transcripts, depositions, research transcripts, and for transcripts that will be used for audio/video editing purposes.
Clean Verbatim Everything we hear, minus the um's, uh's, speech patterns, false starts is transcribed. Pauses, non-relevant comments, side conversations, applause, laughter, interruptions, and moderator/interviewer remarks can be included or excluded according to your direction. Grammar, slang, and non-standard language is not corrected.
Clean verbatim is most requested for focus groups, business meetings, presentations, and panel discussions.
Edited Verbatim This is our most popular transcription style. We edit as we transcribe to eliminate side comments, unrelated conversation, unnecessary words, speech patterns, filler phrases, false starts, etc. Grammar, slang, and non-standard language is corrected.
Edited verbatim is most requested for speeches, lectures, presentations, interviews, and quarterly earnings conference calls.
Summary This transcription style summarizes the discussion into a brief, easy to read version which includes only the most important information, ideas, and comments. Anything not essential is not included in the summary.
A summary can be useful when you need a quick review of the pertinent information or want to summarize key points from an interview or focus group discussion.
Single Pass Transcription
Edited Verbatim Edited as we transcribe to eliminate unrelated comments, unnecessary words, speech patterns, filler phrases, false starts, ums, uhs, etc., and side conversations. While grammar, slang, and non-standard language is corrected as we type, it may not be as consistent as the proofread with audio option. Some rewinding may be done to clear up unintelligible words and phrases.
Single pass edited verbatim is usually requested for editorial interviews, research groups, research interviews, or when the transcript is going to be further edited or modified.
Draft We transcribe what we hear, listening only once to the audio. There is no rewinding or re-listening to review the audio and edit what is said.
While the draft style produces a good quality transcript, it should be used only if you are going to review the audio and edit the transcript.
